Easter is one of the most essential celebrations in Christianity. It symbolizes the start of new beginnings as it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead after being crucified. It denotes hope and rebirth as the last day of the Lenten period, lasting forty days of fasting and self-restoration. While Easter's date is not fixed, it falls on the first Sunday following the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox.

Today, Easter is more popularly known as when the Easter bunny rolls around and drops a few eggs for them to search.

A Mix of Customs and Traditions

Easter traditions are a colorful mix of religious and cultural practices. For the traditional side of things, Christians usually hold special services at dawn to honor Christ's resurrection. Meanwhile, on the modern side of things, children celebrate it through Easter egg hunts that involve finding eggs that are usually stuffed with chocolates and trinkets.

Children are also introduced to the Easter Bunny, a famous character who brings eggs to the children. The eggs are also considered a symbol of new beginnings. Aside from egg hunting, families also like painting decorations on the Easter eggs and sharing them with the family.

Celebrating Easter

Traditionally, people celebrate Easter by going to church or having family reunions. People love celebrating Easter as they spend time with their relatives or even friends, with many families enjoying a festive meal featuring dishes like roasted lamb, hot cross buns, and carrot cake.

Meanwhile, other families celebrate the holiday by throwing Easter egg hunts in their backyards and by creating crafts of Easter decorations or baking particular goods to make the holiday more enjoyable.

As Easter is a time when people can bond, this is the perfect time to reflect or appreciate the warm weather that comes with spring.
