Custom Calendar Generator

The custom calendar generator builds a 12-month weekday grid for one civil year. You choose Sunday or Monday as the first column. The result is a planning grid you can screenshot or print, not the site’s yearly-calendars hub that pairs each year with holiday callouts, week-number columns, and navigational year archives.

What this generator is for

Some people need a clean year of months with a chosen week start and no extra chrome. Offices that start weeks on Monday want Monday in the first column. US schools that teach Sunday-start wall calendars want Sunday first. This form is that switch plus a year picker.

The yearly calendars hub at 2026 yearly calendars is a different product: a published year page with site navigation, holiday context, and print presets. Do not treat this generator as a duplicate hub. Use the hub when you want the editorial year package; use this page when you want a bare 12-month grid with a week-start toggle.

Sunday start versus Monday start

Sunday start matches many North American wall calendars and US school materials. Monday start matches ISO 8601 weeks and most European planners. The dates do not change; only the empty cells at the beginning of each month move. January 1 still falls on the same weekday either way.

ISO week numbers are not printed here. If you need week numbers in the margin, use week number calendar, which labels days with ISO weeks and assumes Monday-based week 1 containing January 4. Mixing week-start cosmetics with ISO week labels on this generator would confuse both audiences.

Leap years and February

The generator includes February 29 when the year is a Gregorian leap year. Common years show 28 days in February. That single cell changes the starting weekday of March and every later month. Always generate the year you will hang; do not reuse a leap-year file in a common year.

For a yes/no on whether last year’s print matches next year, use calendar reuse. This generator always draws twelve months for the year you enter; it does not compare two years.

Worked examples

A project manager in a Monday-start company generates 2026 with Monday first, screenshots the year, and pastes it into a kickoff deck. They add milestone dots later in the slide tool. The generator does not store those dots.

A homeschool parent wants Sunday-start months to match a US workbook. They generate 2026, print, and write holidays by hand after checking 2026 holidays. The grid stays blank of holiday names on purpose.

Multi-month and range tools are different

If you need two to eighteen consecutive months that may cross December into January, use the multi-month generator. If you have a start date and an end date and want every month that the span touches, use the date-range calendar. This page is strictly twelve civil months of one named year.

Fiscal years that start in October are not twelve civil months of 2026 in the federal sense. Use the fiscal calendar generator when month labels should read as fiscal months rather than January–December of one civil year.

Printing and accessibility

Screenshot or print from the browser. There is no server-side PDF renderer on this page. High-contrast print CSS on the site still applies. For a single month at a larger type size, monthly calendars are easier to read than a 12-up year.

Do not add scripts or downloaded fonts from third parties into a copied HTML export. The grid you see is the deliverable. Recolor in a design tool if a poster needs brand colors.

Limits

The generator does not mark US federal holidays, paydays, or school terms. It does not emit .ics. It does not offer 4-4-5 retail weeks. Those are separate generators so each URL answers one job. Keep this page for week-start choice on a civil year grid.

Years far outside ordinary planning ranges may still render under Gregorian rules. Historical Julian calendars are not offered. For leap-year lists rather than a grid, use the leap years list tool.

Classroom and office posting

Sunday-start years match many US elementary posters. Monday-start years match ISO-speaking offices. Print the version your audience already expects so people do not argue about which column is the weekend. The generator will not settle that cultural choice; it only draws the columns you pick.

A twelve-month year on letter paper is small. For a hallway, print two pages of six months or use monthly calendars at larger type. The generator’s job is completeness of twelve months, not poster typography. Add your own title with 2026 in a drawing program if the screenshot header is too faint.

Blank cells at the start of a month

January 1 that falls on Thursday leaves Sunday through Wednesday empty on a Sunday-start grid. On a Monday-start grid the empty lead-in cells differ because Sunday sits at the end of the row. Those blanks are not January dates. Do not write December 32 into them; use the previous month’s grid if you need trailing days shown.
